Abstracting The West: Art Quilt Show
July 1 – September 30, 2016
Art played an important role in the shaping of the American West. The creative writing of John Muir, the beautiful paintings of Albert Bierstadt and Thomas Moran, and the early photography of Charles L. Weed and Carleton E. Watkins all worked to fire the imagination of America. The West became a potent symbol of hope and beauty. Abstracting the West is an opportunity for artists to interpret the West in art quilting. This juried show will display the works of these artisans and will be available for purchase. Immerse yourself in the fabric of history within this dynamic exhibit.
