We came for your childrens event, the first weekend of October. We had a blast! It was worth the drive for eastern Colorado. Your staff was so polite and helpful. You helped us make some great memories and exhusted one very energetic little girl. We will be making this event an annual trip. She said "this was the best day ever."

This was wonderful. I especially like the guides being in character and allowing us to play along. I really appreciated the historical context. This should be a stop for anyone visiting Wyoming

Torn between four or five stars. The prison is full of so many things to see and so much history. I appreciated all the written history. I especially liked the people who acted a part of that history. The broom shop was the best for us. The couple there was generous with information and demonstrations.
We had a photo taken years ago in one of the shops and we were looking forward to was getting a photo with our grandson. All the shops were closed up. We were disappointed only for that reason.

I found this to be a very interesting site. And the price was extremely reasonable. The idea of a frontier prison was really brought to life by the displays and the guide at the information booth was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I would recommend this location to anyone visiting Laramie even if - as we were - you are only there for a day.

We came from CA to see this place. We had a very interesting day there. The young man in the store was very informative about the prison's history and we enjoyed listening to him. We toured on our own and were fascinated with the bldgs, the broom factory, the fabulous carved furniture one of the inmates did and just generally enjoyed the entire visit. We will go back again when we go to WY.

It was really fun to learn about the crazy prison life. Our tour guide knew a lot of information and was humorous in her delivery. I look forward to coming back and exploring more!

I came to the site today (July 16th 2014) and I ended up loving it. I actually love history and getting to see prison’s it’s pretty neat.

I had amazing time and took tons of photos, I wish I had brought my camcorder instead. Only downside of this place was the children that were brought in shortly after we arrived. I know this is history and place for children to learn but how will a 4 year old learn from this, the noise from the group of children, the screaming made me rush my time there because I couldn’t focus or read while that was happening, why parents think this is a place for kids to place I don’t know?

I would love to visit again but I rather have it be certain hours and have it be kid free.

Kudos to Debra and all the staff and volunteers for a extremely well-organized, fun and information Statehood Day on July 10. I am a life-long resident of Laramie and was so proud of all that participated in this event. Milward Simpson’s remarks to open the festivities was special, the lunch (thanks to First Interstate Bank) was great, and the performance on Wyoming History was so informative. The activities for the children were special. Thank you all.

We first started to visit this prison 6 years ago and it just gets better every year. We have seen it go from just being a nice stop on your trip somewhere to being something that we look forward to seeing every year. This was the first year that we did the guided tour which was very interesting. The tour guide had many insights into the prison that we did find out on previous trips. And my kids really enjoyed helping the “inmates” make brooms at the prison. This is a must stop if you are traveling on I-80.
